20 nursing students from ITE East Singapore who were on a 5-day field trip in Sri Lanka organized by LIA, participated in a Leadership Training Session by Paul Navamani on June 29th. The students explored developing innovative and creative solutions while complying with strict guidelines, learning to focus on the main objective when setting higher benchmarks to create exponential performance improvement, developing decision-making skills and achieving consensus as some of the customized areas of this training experience. In addition, basic leadership skills just as self-assurance, respecting and encouraging others, time and priority management were addressed. All the activities were experiential learning based including an interesting case study. The students were fully engrossed in the activities as well as in the discussion times which followed every activity, resulting in them choosing key action steps which would help them in their careers as well as in their personal lives.
